By Step
One of the greatest purchases you will ever make in your life is real estate. When you consider the risk—hundreds of thousands of dollars—you must make wise decisions. Although this process can overwhelm you and add stress to your life, it doesn’t have to. There is joy in buying a home.
01 -FIND A TRUSTWORTHY BUYER’S AGENT
Congratulations! You are finished with the first step in buying a home—you have made it to my website. Now all you need to do to get things started is to fill out my form.
06 - OFFER ACCEPTANCE
Within 7 to 10 days, we will need to remove the subjects. I will work with your mortgage broker to get full approval, help you get your inspection scheduled, and go through all the necessary documentation.
02 - MORTGAGE PRE-APPROVAL
This is a necessary step that you have to do before you can start looking. It would be very disappointing to find the home of your dreams only to learn that it is not within your budget.
07 - REMOVAL OF SUBJECTS
Congratulations! You are ready to continue the purchase process because you have done your due diligence. After you have signed a subject removal addendum and sent your deposit check, you are ready to seal the deal.
03 - CREATE YOUR WISH LIST
When you make a list of the things you want, there are many things to consider, and you may change your mind as you visit new properties. I will work to find houses that meet a majority of the things on your list.
08 -CHOOSING A LAWYER
To make sure everything is legitimate, you’ll need a real estate lawyer, which will run about $800-$1000. I will coordinate with the lawyers, so no need to worry—all you do is show up to sign the papers.
04 -THE HUNT BEGINS
I use your wish list to find the best houses for you. Many times, a buyer’s agent has early access to listings—a benefit to working with an agent. If I send one you like, let me know and I will schedule a showing.
09 - GETTING READY TO MOVE
You will need to schedule movers, schedule cable and internet connections, utilities, home insurance, etc. I have recommendations to help you. I will help you access your new home as we get closer to your closing date.
05 - WHEN YOU FIND YOUR DREAM HOME
I will take care of the details—drafting a contract, researching the home’s value, evaluating tax reports—so that your offer is the most appealing to the seller. From there, I will work to negotiate the best deal for you.
010 - TIME TO PARTY
I love to party and expect to receive an invitation to your house warming party! Naturally, we get to know each other during the process of finding and buying your home, so I like to celebrate your new home with you.
